Amateur breeding very young gouldian finch couple. Is everything going to be alright?
We recently adopted a pair of gouldian finches and right away they built a nest and laid eggs. As I asked the pet shop whom gave them to us, they mentioned the birds they have are maximum 1 year old so we assume this should be their first time.

Last night we had a lot of guests and in order to not have them stressed out, I have moved their cage to a separate room. Meanwhile my husband made me too worried by saying moving the cage might have caused some of their eggs to break. (They were sitting in the cozy nest attached to the cage while I moved it and they don't show any signs of being stressed about that I moved them).

Since my birds are too young I don't know if they will take the broken eggs out of the nest or not. Do you think I should investigate their nest? (They are sitting too much tight in it, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea to force them out of the nest)

On the first 2~3 days when the hen was laying the eggs they weren't sitting on them as often as they do these days (it's now 5 days total since they have laid eggs and the last 3 days they were sitting on them all the time). Do you think that should have caused the eggs to go bad and now they wouldn't even turn to chicks even though they are sitting on them?

I would appreciate any advice.

Your birds would not sit broken eggs so that is one less thing to worry about, nor is there much chance that the eggs were broken when the cage was moved.

Do not disturb them just to look at the eggs even to see if they are fertile, Gouldians can be very easily disturbed when sitting eggs which could result in them deserting the eggs which you do not want to happen.

Normally the can lay up to 5 eggs as a clutch it then takes 13-15 days for them to hatch,so you need to be preparing for chicks arriving shortly(if the eggs are fertile)and you seem to have a very good pair.

What you need to do now is soak some of their seed with an addition of a little Niger seed in warm water ,overnight,drain , rinse,place somewhere warm till it sprouts(2-3 days)rinse and start to feed it as soon as it is ready and until any young are feeding themselves.

I danced naked at amateur night and now I regret it. I need help dealing with this?
Back in 2007 right after I turned 18 two girlfriends and I decided to play a game of Monopoly and the stakes where that the two girls who lost would have to perform amateur night at the local strip club. There have to be three girls signed up to do it, so we waited until another girl signed up and then we knew for sure it was on. We went up to the DJ booth about ten times for instructions and then the moment of truth arrived.

Because there were only three of us we were given extra time for our dances. The girl I didn't know went first, and then my friend, and then it was my turn. I didn't wear much in there to begin with, just my shirt, a white skirt, my bra and thong, and my sandals (it was summer). I couldn't wear the sandals on stage there so I went up barefoot. Anyway, I got my skirt and shirt off pretty quickly and was going around the poll, and then my bra and finally my thong. All the guys were cheering the whole time as I threw my clothes into the pile behind me.

Like I said, we were all given extra time so I spent nearly ten minutes in my birthday suit. I've been thinking about and writing this novel for two years, and I've already gone through two drafts of the first few chapters. In short, it's about an inherently obediant high school valedictorian who longs to be spontaneous and who goes on a whirlwind trip thoruh Europe with a young man who perfectly fits who she wants to be. But then she must settle back into the life that she has to have because of her personality: college student, wife, mother, unextraordinary, while attempting to maintain nothing more than a friendship with the man of her dreams. Anyway, I've started re-writing and this is what I've come up with:

If the end justifies the means, I will never understand why people go to such lengths for family. If you ask me, families are more trouble than they're worth, and I'm sure Machiavelli would have agreed with me. All expectation, imagination, and pretention. A group of people who continually hurt each other, while still dutifully sending birthday cards and putting up with each other's company. Like estranged friends or divorced couples forced into the same room, who truly have nothing in common but continue with the niceties for tradition's sake, or for the sake of the guyren. But guyren grow up quickly and are more observant than they are given credit for. It does not take long for them to understand that family is nothing more than a charade, no more real than Santa Claus, and they begin to play along like the best of them. A viscious cycle of broken hearts and poker faces through the generations of nostalgic people who hope that if they act well enough, the facade will become real. Far more trouble than it's worth in this short life, yet every fictional character's problem, from Jane Eyre to Harry Potter, seems to be their lack of a family, and their ultimate quest is either to find one or make one. It makes me wonder if this is more wishful thinking on the part of the authors, or if some families are really that desirable.
I suppose the shells of my family look happy enough: two parents with steady jobs who have been married to each other for twenty years, their one almost-grown up daughter who gets straight A's, a pale green house in a quiet suburban neighborhood in Virginia, a family pew at the church we've been attending since I was born, a row of family portraits on the wall showing the three of us in sweaters, our faces and bodies bearing the weight of additional years from frame to frame. Although these seemed to be the prerequisties for a perfectly happy domestic environment, I found my family life incredibly hollow, like a brightly colored plastic egg that a guy eagerly picks up on an Easter egg hunt and opens, expecting a coin or jelly bean, only to find it completely and distrubingly empty.
Families are always made out to be such strong entities, but truly they are quite fragile, like a spider web, easily torn apart by a careless swipe of the hand. They don't understand that an apology or an affectionate look can completely re-weave the family. If the structure itself is inherently weak, the builders are only made stronger in their determination to keep it intact. Neither of my parents were willing to take on that labor of love, that constant balancing that goes along with being a family, and so we remained a trio of strangers living under the same roof, each attempting to create our own support systems within ourselves, and never truly succeeding. As any student of biology will tell you, a group of organisms living in the same ecosystem can either cooperate or destroy each other. There is no way for living things to have absolutely no relationship with each other, given their proximity. No matter how hard my parents tried to remain distant, we constantly affected each other, and because they were unwilling to support me, I always knew that our only option was destruction.
